Work Experience

ASUC Art Studio at U.C. Berkeley : Berkeley, CA : September, 2001 - present

  • Created and currently run a ceramics internship program. The program is designed to give ceramic artists the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to run a ceramic studio. That includes glaze formulation, clay recycling, and kiln operation and maintenance. The interns also gain further experience in all the aspects of working with clay. I teach the interns whatever skills they need, including sculpting / hand-building, pottery on the wheel, and surface treatment techniques. I give interns assignments for artworks intended to demonstrate what is possible with the materials and tools provided by the art studio.
